Plan the Work, Work the Plan
|
Race Day Rules: 1. Plan the work, work the Plan 2. Nothing New on Race Day (no new expo gear) 3. Have a B & C plan...just in case it is very hot or very cold *(you can not control the weather, you can only prepare for it) *That means give yourself a break...if it is 80 degrees (San Antonio 09') you probably will not have a new personal record! If it is 40 degrees or less it will also be tough. *What is your plan when things get tough...mile 24? Focus on keep moving forward! Try changing your gait...length of your stride...go faster...hook on to someone who is passing you. Sometimes your muscles need a change is speed / pace (get out of the rut).

Technology
Click Here for more information and sign-up!
The Chevron Houston Marathon, Aramco Houston Half Marathon and EP5K offer a variety of technological perks that help participants, friends and family have a more enjoyable race experience. Here are short descriptions of a few of these offerings.
Athlete AlertsFriends and family members will be able to sign up online to receive email or text message alerts showing a runner's progress in real time as he or she completes the course. This allows spectators to keep track of participants on the course so that they can know when and where to be to support their runners.
Map TrackingDuring the race, spectators will be able to log on to our website to view a map showing where their selected participants are on the course. Spectators can track multiple participants on the map, seeing their progress in real-time as they move along the course.
